Why should I get CFI Certified?

For 15 years CFI has provided training and certification to floorcovering installers, elevating installing to a true profession. This past year, CFI achieved the milestone of having trained 36,000 installers. CFI training is not classroom training - it is "hands on" education. Installers learn from experienced, exceptionally skilled installers from around the world and are tested on their knowledge and ability, as well as their actual skill and techniques. CFI Membership is more than education. Through joining CFI, you join a network of dedicated, professional installers and floorcovering industry companies that actively support the professional development and business of floorcovering installation. The information gained at Certification, through the local Chapter, Convention and on the Internet will provide you with a “step-up” on your competition if you choose to market yourself accordingly.

CFI promotes you through your membership. Your name is made available when calls are received requesting a recommendation for certified members for work or consultation in your area. As many request the R-II or C-II, Master or Master-II categories, it is important to continue to upgrade your Certification. All current dues-paying members are listed on the Internet unless they have requested otherwise. Through training and certification in CFI proven methods, the quality of your installation work will rise to a standard of excellence, one your customers will appreciate and be happy to recommend, and that is the best way to grow your business.

CFI participates in many special events, but our annual CFI convention is probably the most important. It is hard to describe the impact of a CFI Convention on a new installer's first trip - but easy to see how it has impacted seasoned installers along their careers. Go ahead, just try to stop a CFI installer from telling you about the difference the CFI convention made for them!

FLOORING INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS

I'm not an installer, but I am in the flooring industry and would like technical certification.

Technical certification is available to all in the Industry who are not Installers and are seeking information that will assist them in working with installers and their customers to resolve problems. This involves attending the Installation Seminar, taking the same tests as the Certified Installers and constructing seams to better understand what is involved in quality installation.

I'm in the flooring industry and would like my company to become an Associate Member.
