Designed for principals and employees of "regular member" organizations, scholarship funds are disbursed on a first-come, first-served basis according to program guidelines and are not a member entitlement (use it or lose it!). Regular Member organizations are eligible to receive up to an annual maximum cumulative total of $500. The scholarship money does not have to be used specifically for flooring-related training or education. For example, it may be applied towards computer or software training. For information on the possibilities uses of the WFCA Trade Scholarship Program, visit the WFCA. The Trade Scholarship Program is a great example of the WFCA's commitment to raise the professionalism of its members and ensure proficiency through sound training and education. "It's probably the most popular program in the WFCA, " says WFCA President Chris Davis. |

The PRESIDENTS SCHOLARSHIP was established in 2007 in memory of all fallen CFI beloved Presidents. CFI's 2nd President (1998-2000), Dough Amundsonm #8 passed away in 2007 at the age of 60. CFI's 5th President (2004-2006), Andrew Aufiero #220 also passed away in 2007 at the age of 52. The Presidents Scholarship is awarded annually by CFI in honor of Past Presidents who seved the organization with distinction. Doug and Andrew's love of installation and their determination to encourage and train flooring installeres led Glenn Olsen to steer the committee to establish the annual scholarship. Because of the financial support of those in attendance at the 2007 Convention and remembrance gifts received from Dough and Andrew's many friends, the scholarship fund was established for an installer to attend the CFI Convention. Funding for this scholarship was established with a financial commitment from CFI members. Contributions are welcome and will be collected annually at the CFI Convention for future scholarships. The installer who is selected will receive full payment of all Convention fees, lodging for 4 nights and transportation expense. Aifare will be booked at the discretion of the Committee. To nominate an installer for the Presidents Scholarship submit a written nomination either by regular mail or email. You can download the form here: LINK. We are looking for a brief (500 words or so) explanation of why you nominated an installer for this scholarship, especially what about the installer as a person and professional you think makes this installer a great asset for CFI and promoting the professional advancement of floorcovering installers by their conduct and skills. We look forward to receiving nominations of installers who show pride in their craftmanship and will bring something to other installers through networking and training with other installers at the CFI Convention. |
